Walking my dogs... *sigh*

Can I just tell you all how much I loathe walking my dogs? I'm trying not to. I'm trying to imagine it as a great time out-of-doors... an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful weather... a great work out for my arms...

My dogs are so sweet and wonderful, but they love to pull me along. They take me for walks, rather than the other, more traditional form of dog-walking. The result is sore arms and a short temper. I'm afraid that I turn into one of those horrible moms in the shopping mall that are constantly yelling at their kids and making empty threats. You'll hear me say things like "I'm turning around if you don't sit!!!" or "Uh uh! It's my way!" And yet, they go along happily, not caring about my obvious displeasure. I'll bet they're thinking "Why doesn't she just enjoy herself like we are?? We're having so much fun!"

I tried a different approach today since my back's been bothering me. I took them to the dog park. I thought it might be a good solution to the exercise dilemma because I don't have to be yanked around and they can both run freely. They can explore and rough-house with the other dogs as much as they want to, and I can enjoy the spectacle from the comfort of a park bench. The only sad thing is that getting them to and from the park was just as much trouble as a 45 minute walk. They are so excited and pumped up, that they pull twice as hard, and in every direction in their extreme enthusiasm. I think that Caesar would have a field day with my dogs.

Don't get me wrong - I love my dogs! I just wish that it wasn't such a spectacle every time we decided to go out somewhere! I just hope that when I walk them tomorrow, they're nice to me!

The Happiest Place on Earth!!

Disneyland was a total blast. There weren't a lot of people there, so we were able to do whatever we wanted. We ate some really unhealthy food, and went on Thunder Mountain four times! My favorite is and always has been Indiana Jones, but the ride broke down twice (both times, Kristie and I were at the front of the line, ready to go!) Oh well! We did end up riding it three times, so I was satisfied.

I have to say the most fun part for me was watching the kids. A lot of the little girls had their princess dresses on and the little boys were carrying around light sabers - they were on their way to Jedi training in Tomorrowland.
It was a total blast and it was very nice to get away.

Here's Kristie taking a picture of Cinderella's castle with Mr. Disney's statue.

Us... having fun...

Some amazing drummers in Tomorrowland!

Jedi Training! Possibly one of the cutest things I have ever seen.

Me, pensive, with a very noble looking Chief.

My all time favorite Disney princess, Belle. Although, it was a little embarassing to wait in line with 20 6 year old girls waiting to have their pictures taken as well. I ended up using "the kids" as my excuse.

We were TERRIFIED!!!!!!! The Haunted Mansion at night is pretty creepy! Besides the fact that some creepy ride attendant followed our cart through part of the ride, staring at Kristie. We both laughed for a good 3 seconds before it turned into "Oh my gosh, is she ever going to go away?" laughs.

The beautiful castle at night. My camera doesn't do it justice.
